I'm so very sad to learn today (Oct. 2) of Shirl's passing! She and I have been pen pals for many years, and although we never met face to face, she was so much more than a dear friend! I'll miss her terribly! All our love to Bill and Keep-ah!

So sad and sorry to learn of Shirley's passing. She was one of a kind and the last surviving member of the Johnson family. A great woman who lived a great life.

Mrs. William T. Leonard, AKA Sargent Shirl, was a most loyal and supportive friend, ever generous in all things. I'm so blessed to have had her in my life. Port Jefferson has lost a gem of a gal.
