Mozelle Shue Was born November 16, 1930 in Richmond, Virginia to Maud and Ernest Sloan. She departed this life on March 17th, 2017.

Upon graduating High School in Richmond, Mozelle joined the United States Army. After completing her basic training she worked as a medical technician in the operating room.

Upon leaving the Army Mozelle returned home and shortly thereafter moved to the Bronx, NY with her mom. She later met and married Peter Yee Shue and raised three children. It was during this time that Mozelle elected to continue her education and pursue her love of nursing. She enrolled in nursing school, completing an internship at Columbia University Hospital and graduated from the Hospital of Special surgery. With a degree in hand she quickly gained employment at Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home where she enjoyed a 30-year career.

Mozelle had a passion for medicine as well a love of history. She also loved music, dancing, reading and road trips with her family. She leave behind a brother, Ernest J. Sloan, two daughters, Jacquelyn Y. Dofat, Joann Sloan, a son Peter Y. Shue, Grandsons George E. Brown, Jeremy A. Brown, Peter L. Shue, Brandon Shue, Granddaughters Brittany McCroskey, Vanessa B. Dofat, and nephews Olivier Holmes, Frank Holmes and Ernest Sloan, Jr. Mozelle also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.

Mozelle's passing is predeceased by her husband of 21 years, Peter Yee Shue, her two brothers Herman Holmes and James Holmes and her nephew Leon Holmes.
