So sorry to hear of the passing of Gerry. What a wonderful, sweet gentleman.
Too young to leave us. May he be wielding a hammer and nails and getting that Heaven in shape.
I always think of him and smile when I pass a Belvedere Construction truck.

I met Gerry through wrestling. His sons joined our Smithtown Wrestling team to attend wrestling camp at Cornell University. Out of that we formed a friendship. I really haven't had a chance to see him since his sons have been out of high school, but I have run into young Gerry a few times at Dunkin Donuts.

Gerry was a great man. He was just one of those guys that made you smile every time you saw him. We had some good times together up at Cornell and I always loved running into him at wrestling events.
Godspeed Gerry.
My condolences to the entire Belvedere family.

Ive known Gerry for 30 years since three village little league and continued our relationship through business once I got out of college. He always treated me like family and always called me first for the products I offer or offered at the time. I was down in Florida with my family on vacation when he passed, and my staff respectfully waited to tell me until I returned today. It was only two days before I left that I saw him and gave him my condolences on for his own fathers passing. I'm so sorry for your loss, I am devastated. Please accept my condolences to Gerry Jr, Dominic and Mrs Belvedere that if they ever need anything, to not hesitate to contact me. I'm so sorry.

Gerry Sr. was our neighbor in Sebastian. Gerry was more than a neighbor to us. He was more like family than a friend, and we loved him. We always loved listening to his stories about his life... his growing up years, being in the Army, but most of all, his family.. He was very, very proud of his family. We visited Gerry when he was in the Sebastian hospital in November, and that's when we met his son Gerry for the first time. We could see, right away, Gerry was a very loving, caring son. We commented that every parent should have a son like Gerry... We have been trying to reach Gerry, to tell him how bad we feel about his father's passing, and offer our deepest sympathy. We just found out that our dear friend Gerry's beloved son passed away. We are very saddened by this news. The Belvedere Family is in our thoughts and prayers during this very sad time. If there is anything we can do to help, please contact us...

I will never forget the first time I met Gerry at a Little League game at Arrowhead Elementary when our boys were very, very young. He had a magical gift for interacting with all of the players on both of the opposing teams regardless of their skill levels, and making each and every one feel very special. As his children grew older, Gerry put his heart and soul into improving athletic facilities at Ward Melville High School, and tens of thousands of students have benefitted from his love and dedication to his community. God bless you, Gerry! Condolences to the entire family.

WE WOULD LIKE TO SEND OUR HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO THE ENTIRE BELVEDERE FAMILY. MAY THE GREAT MEMORIES OF GERRY AND YOUR FAMILY BOND GIVE YOU THE STRENGHTH TO GET THROUGH THIS! ID LIKE TO SHARE SOME THOUGHTS AND STORIES AND ILL TRY TO KEEP IT SHORTER THAN ONE OF OUR FOOTBALL SPEECHES. WE MET GERRY IN ONE OF THE BEST TIMES OF OUR LIVES (COACHING CENTRAL SUFFOLK FOOTBALL). I GOT TO KNOW GERRY BOTH ON AND OFF THE FIELD AND ID LIKE TO SHARE SOME STORIES ABOUT THE MAN. NO...I MEAN THE MANS MAN. THATS RIGHT, GERRY WAS A MANS MAN THROUGH AND THROUGH. GERRY WAS A LEADER, HE WAS IN CHARGE, HE WAS ARTICULATE, WELL SPOKEN, AND MOST OF ALL HE WAS CONFIDENT AND WELL PREPARED! ALL THOSE WHO WERE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE UNDER HIS TUTELAGE INHERITED THOSE TRAITS. GERRYS PERSONALITY WAS INFECTIOUS! GERRY STOOD OUT! WETHER IT BE ON A FIELD OF PLAY, A JOB SITE, A RESTURAUNT OR A BARBECUE, GERRY WOULD BE THE FIRST GUY THAT YOU'D NOTICE! HE HAD A PRESENCE ABOUT HIM WHCH EXUDED LIFE! HE WAS A BEAM OF LIGHT, A RAY OF SUNSHINE, HE WAS LIKE A LIT FIREPLACE IN A CABIN.... ALWAYS AGLOW! ONE COULD NEVER FEEL COLD AROUND HIM. HE MADE YOU FEEL GOOD. HE MADE YOU FEEL WARM! AND THEN THERE WERE THE GERRYISMS WHICH I'LL RELATE IN A TRUE STORY. WHEN CELLA BAGELS WAS BEING BUILT I WAS PASSING BY AND SAW A BELVEDERE TRUCK. WITH THE HOPES OF SEEING GERRY I TURNED AROUND AND WENT BACK. I PULLED UP GOT OUT OF MY TRUCK AND THE FIRST PERSON I NOTICED WAS GENERAL BELVEDERE HIMSELF. AS I APPROACHED HIM I RECIEVED HIS 2 HANDS TO THE BACK OF MY NECK PULLING ME TOWARDS HIS LIPS (GERRYISM), THEN I GOT A DOUBLE CHEEK KISS (GERRYISM), THEN THE GREATEST 3 WORDS OF ALL..."HOWS THE FAMILY?" (#1 GERRYISM) AFTER THOSE 3 GERRYISMS WERE OUT OF THE WAY, IT WAS ON....THE FAMOUS CALF CONTEST (WHICH ALL PACKERS AND 49ERS MUST REMEMBER)! I HAD TO PULL UP MY WORK PANTS AND WE WENT LEG TO LEG! (HE NEVER WON THAT CONTEST) IN CLOSING AS THE TEARS SPEW ONTO MY KEYBOARD... TO LAUGH OR TO CRY? WHEN MY DAUGHTER TEXTED ME THE HORRIFIC NEWS ABOUT GERRY I CRIED TILL I LAUGHED ABOUT THE ISMS. WHEN MY WIFE ASKED ME TO WRITE ON GERRYS GUEST WALL, I SMILED AND LAUGHED ABOUT WHAT ID SAY UNTIL I CRIED (NOW)! EITHER WAY, WE LAUGH AND CRY FOR THE MEMORIES! LETS NOT LET THEM DIE, AND KEEP GERRYS LEGACY ALIVE. ALMOST EVERYBODY'S GOT A BELVEDERE STORY, EVERY STORY MAKES YOU SMILE! LETS KEEP THE STORIES COMING! TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION GERRY...MY FAMILY IS BETTER FOR HAVING KNOWN YOU, WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU! HOPEFULLY WE'LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE!

My heart felt condolences go out to the Belvedere family. I only knew Gerry for a short time but he will always be remembered by me. He was a devoted son to his father throughout his father's stay in the nursing home. I can only wish to be half the son to my father that Gerry was to his father. He is more than an example of what every son should be.

Gerry, inspired me in Shop Class to build a Old Fashion Water Pump Lamp. He took his time to help me and he prove to be talented in carpentry. Our first year in CHSS it was Gerry sitting next to me in Gym who registered for Football. Once again it was Gerry that help me learn the sport and threw the ball to me. I often rode my bike down New Highway from Fisher Road in our youth to Gerrys home. Over the years we lost touch from CHSS. days. Did not see Gerry at our 40 th reunion. Having driven down New Highway I always pass Gerrys old family home. Thinking of him with good thoughts. Gerry held good thoughts for all he knew my coldolences to his sons and family. I had a friend in Gerry he was a true Spartan who will be missed but never forgotten 🙏🏻
