William “Bill” Charles Wesley, Sr. was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 15, 1941, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on May 15, 2023, at Stony Brook University Hospital.
Bill was married for 58 years to his wife Rosemarie (Barone) and was an incredible Father to his late son, William Jr. as well as his three other children, Keith, Mark (Dawn), and Kristine (David). He was also a proud Grandfather to his four granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Amanda, Brianna, and Gabriella, who he adored.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army and a volunteer firefighter for Garden City Park Fire Department. He was a foreman for the Town of North Hempstead Highway Department where he worked for 35 years. He then proceeded to serve with the Terryville Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter alongside his sons, William Jr. and Keith, where he was able to watch William Jr., rise to become Chief of the Department. He was an active member until he was 82 years old.
One thing about Bill was that he was one of the biggest supporters of his family, and never was one to judge. He supported his kids throughout their life by going to soccer and hockey games when they were younger and helped them take care of their houses as adults. As for his granddaughters, he would attend every school event, dance recital, field hockey game, or concert.
No matter where he was, or where he worked, Bill was well respected, loved, an inspiration to all, and a man of honor. He had a contagious laugh and loved to be surrounded by his family. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, as well as his love for nature, gardening, and home improvements.
Bill will be missed tremendously, but forever remembered as the amazing person he was.
