William Seward Dawes

Dr. William S. Dawes passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023 at Stony Brook University Hospital, family members beside him. He and Alice were married for 56 years, residing in Setauket since 1969. Bill was a faculty member with Stony Brook's Department of Economics for 48 years, and was a beloved teacher and mentor to thousands of students.

A memorial service for Bill will be held on Saturday, May 13, at 11:00 am, at Setauket Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow at the church at 12:30 pm. All are welcome to attend either, or both.
