Thomas R. Fitzgerald

Thomas Fitzgerald (b. 1961, d. 2018) was a son, a brother, a husband, a friend, a father, and a kind soul to all who knew him. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to proud immigrants Eileen Reynolds and Thomas Fitzgerald Sr. Irish through and through, his humor, twinkling eyes, and deep chuckle was as integral to him as his fiery red hair.

 He attended classes at the University of Albany after graduating from Ward Melville High School in 1979. He went on to work for the State of New York as an engineer, serving the Stony Brook University Hospital faithfully for over 30 years.

Thomas met his wife, Jo Ann Heimerle in 1991 and married her in October of 1995. The two of them adopted their daughter Marie in 2001, and the three of them lived happily together with their cats in historic Stony Brook.

The viewing will take place on Tuesday, November 13 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Bryant’s Funeral Home in East Setauket. Mass, followed by burial, will take place on Wednesday, November 14 2018 at 10:45 AM at St. James Roman Catholic Church in East Setauket.
