Philip Tedesco, 84, of Strong’s Neck, Setauket, NY left us on August 13, 2018. He lived a long and fulfilled life. He is survived by the love of his life, Phyllis (Philomena Gagliano) his wife of nearly 62 years. Philip was born on November 20, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, and spent summers in Selden where he met Phyllis and had many wonderful memories. He was a Korean War veteran and was a graduate of St. Johns Prep and NYU. An engineer by trade, Philip owned an elevator company for more than two decades, and later worked in the defense industry.
Philip’s three children were enriched by his support and love; Roy (Susan) Tedesco of Kennett Square PA; Lenore Tedesco (Nancy Fribley) of Cape May NJ; and Philip (Nancy) Tedesco of North Kingstown RI. Trever, Amelia, Leah, Taylor and Bronwen, his grandchildren, loved to spend time with him at the beach. He is also survived by a sister, Rosemary Kindya (New Hyde Park, NY). Philip and Phyllis were snowbirds and spent more than two decades enjoying the good life in Highland Beach, Florida. They are long-time members of the Old Field Club where Philip will be sorely missed.
Donations in memory of Philip may be made to The Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor NJ 08247 (www.wetlandsinstitute.org).
“You have touched all of our lives, Phil, and we miss you dearly.”
