We reflect on the life and accomplishments of Patricia Ann Roth-MacIntyre, who passed on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 79, with love and reverence. A woman dedicated to seeking and fostering beauty.

Patricia, fondly known as Pat, was born in Queens on January 29, 1943, to Victor and Virginia Mincieli and was raised in East Williston, Long Island. She was a vibrant and strikingly beautiful young lady. While attending the all-girls Catholic high school, Our Lady of Mercy Academy, she caught the attention of Donald Roth at Jones Beach whom she married in 1962 at the age of 19.

Pat and Donald led a social and active life together in Stony Brook along with their three children, Virginia, Arthur, and Jonathan. They were members of the Smithtown Hunt where they shared a passion for fox hunting and horses, including various trips to Ireland to hunt abroad. They enjoyed tennis at the Old Field Club where they were members for many years. Their summers were spent in Shelter Island at the Roth’s family home.

As an incredible cook and gracious hostess, Pat took joy in hosting festive gatherings throughout the year in her home which was perfectly decorated inside and out. Alongside her keen eye for interior design, Pat developed a vast knowledge of antiques, a hobby which later became her own antique dealership - Fox Run Antiques. Additionally, Pat had a penchant for gardening and filled her outdoors with cheerful blooms and herbs of all varieties. Pat’s amazing abilities as a cook, decorator, hostess and gardener speak to her passion for creating beauty and establishing an environment to enjoy this beauty with those she loved.

Outside the home, Pat worked at the notable Scalamandre textile establishment honing her skill in interior design early in her marriage prior to becoming a homemaker. In the 1980s she also worked for the New York State Health department in service to the government and pursuit of improving the well-being of those around her as well as at SUNY Stony Brook.

In later years, Pat was remarried to Robert MacIntyre. She and Robert shared a love of classical music. They both were avid readers and perpetuated a thirst for knowledge into their older age on a wide variety of topics including history, art, and astronomy.

As a lifelong resident of Long Island, the beach was always nearby and a common thread throughout her life. Her family will celebrate her life in an intimate gathering by the water, in keeping with her wishes.

Patricia is survived by her 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Should you wish to honor her memory, please donate to Good Shephard Hospice in Port Jefferson.
