Muriel Therese Crane
June 5, 1930 ~ December 2, 2023 (age 93) 93 Years Old
Muriel Therese Crane was born June 1930 in New York, New York to Mary Josephine and Richard.
Muriel graduated form St, Michael’s High School in New York and started working at a five and dime where she met the love of her life, John Michael Crane. It was love at first sight for both of them. After a whirlwind year of dating the two were married in 1949. Together Muriel and John raised five children: Deborah, Karen, John Jr., Elizabeth and Richelle. They also raised two beautiful grandchildren, Alexandria and Jennifer Dilorenzo.
Muriel was very active in St. Aidan’s Roman Catholic Church, Williston Park; St. James Catholic Church, Setauket and St. Luke’s, Palm Harbor, serving on various committees.
Muriel was a very loving, caring mother and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and everyone’s cheerleader.
Muriel’s husband John, and two of her daughters , Deborah Crane Dilorenzo and Karen Crane Pink predeceased her. Muriel is survived by her son John M. Crane Jr., and his wife Carla Penisi Crane; her daughter Elizabeth Crane Casey, and her husband William; her daughter Richelle Crane Damone, and her husband, Mark; her granddaughters Alexandria Dilorenzo Hartigan; Jennifer Dilorenzo; Erin Casey Simpson; Karen Casey Zeltmann; Catherine Crane Holder; Deborah Damone Kuhles and Courtney Damone Charlton; her grandsons Jay Pink; William Casey; John Michael Crane, and her great-grandchildren Molli Hartigan; Emma Muriel, Sean and Gavin Simpson; Peyton and McKenna Charlton; Abigail Casey and Hudson Elliott, Augustin, Eloise and Alcott Zeltmann, and baby girl Kuhles.
We will truly miss our Nanny’s guidance, help, kindness and generosity. Nanny was always there to talk, go shopping or hang out.
There is an indescribable loss for John, Richelle, and Elizabeth as well as her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude’s Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation..
