Mr. Manuel Jose Calado

Manuel Calado, beloved father and grandfather died unexpectedly on September 15, 2018, at the age of 87 in Port Jefferson, Sta., NY.   Manuel is the loving husband of the late Maria.  They shared 63 years of marriage together.

Manuel is survived by his children, Manuel (Allyson), John, James (Gina), and grandchildren, Lauren (Patrick), Nicole, (Brian), Matthew, Derek, Marissa, Brooke and Jamie.  He is also survived by his sister Rosalina, (John).  He was predeceased by his parents Rosalina and Manuel, and son Agostinho (Kathi).

Manuel was born in Portugal, April 21, 1931. He joined the family occupation of fishing at a very young age.  He learned carpentry, which became his lifelong trade, after immigrating to Venezuela.   He came to the United States with his wife and children in 1966. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and skilled carpenter, having built a number of small wooden boats.  He was a selfless, devoted family man who cherished his grandchildren, and a devout man having been a member of Infant Jesus Parish for over 50 years.
