Lisa Rita de Garay

Lisa Saraceno de Garay, of East Setauket, entered the gates of heaven, after a long courageous fight with cancer while surrounded by her family on Friday March 20, 2020.  Happily married to Franco de Garay for 27 years and mother of Peter, 23 and Giulia de Garay, 21.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Carmen and Elizabeth Saraceno. A graduate of Haverford Senior High School and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Lisa worked as a Label Systems Consultant at Peak-Ryzex. She was a member of St James Roman Catholic Church.

Lisa loved cooking, gardening, canning tomatoes with her sister and spending her summer’s in Brigantine, NJ. After the passing of her parents one of her proudest moments was the purchase of the family house in Brigantine, which continued the Saraceno legacy. Her greatest joy was being Franco’s wife and Peter and Giulia’s mother. LISA enjoyed caring for her family and friends and was known for her ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed.

Lisa is survived by her sisters, Maryanne, wife of Jon Kessler, West Chester, PA, Kathleen, wife of John Henry, of Shillington, PA and brother-in-law Piero, wife Antonella de Garay and sister-in-law Mariella and husband Stefano Crovetto of Genova, Italy.

Due to current circumstances, a small private viewing and service has already been celebrated.
