Mrs Kathryn A. Kleaka

Kathryn A. Kleaka, 46, of Port Jefferson, New York died on June 10, 2017 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born on April 28, 1971, the devoted daughter of Diana (Mattucci) Casey and the late Francis X. Casey of Eastchester, New York. She is the beloved wife of 19 years to Kevin Kleaka and loving mother to Patrick and Jonathan Kleaka.

She is also survived by her siblings, Edward, Frank, Mary, Patricia and Eileen and their respective spouses Maureen Casey (Frank), Jeffrey Fenton (Mary), Brian Powers (Patricia) and David Bagshaw (Eileen); her devoted mother-in-law Christine Kleaka, father-in-law Hank Kleaka and wife Gloria Kleaka, brother-in-law Ken Kleaka, and sister-in-law Tara Kleaka. She was adored by her nieces and nephews Brian, Sean, Casey, Colin and Mara Fenton, Danielle Casey, Kate and Julia Powers, Sophie and Oliver Bagshaw, Cole and Annelise Kleaka; and her many cousins, and countless friends. Kathy showed us all how to live the life of a true warrior!

Kathy received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Plattsburg in Speech Therapy and a Master’s in Special Education from the College of New Rochelle. She worked as a speech therapist in several schools in Westchester County and Long Island, NY. Despite her education and profession, her most important job was being the most loving mother of her two boys. Kathy stayed home with them for ten years before returning to her career, which is the reason they are such wonderful and respectful young adults. Kathy’s other life passion was in fitness, where she was an inspiration to so many.

Family and friends may visit Thursday June 15th at 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Bryant Funeral Home, 411 Old Town Rd., Setauket, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday June 16, 2017 at 11am at Infant Jesus Church. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson, NY.
