Jason Kurt Brubaker, age 51, of Tampa Florida died unexpectedly in a car accident in Tampa on April 18, 2020.  He is fondly remembered by all for his uncanny ability to always look on the bright side and provided a friendly smile to everyone.  Jason loved his daughter, his family, his music and his work in computer science.

Born December 20th 1968, Jason grew up in Setauket, New York, where he loved to spend time at the beach.  His family later moved to Simsbury Connecticut where he graduated from Simsbury High School in 1986. Jason graduated from Mitchell College in 1988 with an Associates’ degree in Computer Science.  He studied at Central Connecticut State University  while working full time at night in the computer room at Fleet Bank, and completed his BS degree in MIS in 1993.

Jason was a Senior Exstream Developer most recently for TEKsystems.  His colleagues have said that he was known for his professionalism, and his “Go get it attitude.”  He was able to speak computer talk to people who did not understand it.

The love of his life was daughter Melissa Concolino of Tampa Florida.  He loved his siblings, sister Gail and brother-in- law Jeff Lebert of Glastonbury Connecticut, brothers John Brubaker and his wife Jane of Wethersfield, Connecticut, Jim Brubaker and his wife Nancy of Bridgewater New Jersey, and Chris Brubaker and his wife Christine of Tampa Florida.  He also enjoyed many family holidays and gatherings with the Concolino family in Setauket, New York.

Recently he had revisited his love of music and playing the drums.  He joined Comin’ Home the Band in 2018 and began writing music, performing in clubs,.  Right before his death the band recorded a cd titled “All In”.  Jason now continues to delight us with his music that he left behind.

Jason also loved sports, especially the New York Mets and the New York Jets.
