Tribute

Gary George GLINTENKAMP passed away suddenly at home on March 5th 2020. He was born 18 March 1956 in Queens, NY.
A long time resident of East Setauket, he attended Ward Melville High School and joined the Army, and was also stationed in
Darmstadt Germany, after Ward Melville High School E Setauket, Gary later served in the US Coast Guard unit PSU311 Los Angeles retiring in  2017 as a Senior Chief. 
He married Sylvia Fekete  a week after 911, continued work with the US Forest Service in CA, thru the 50 states.  Among his many accomplishments, he was a seasonal fire fighter, Task force leader & Crew Chief, as well as East Setauket fire dept volunteer, BLM bureau of land management,
Amateur radio operator and PADI diver.
Fish and wildlife volunteer,
A born leader and teacher he generously shared his knowledge of  Seventh day Adventist  Health & wellness, while fighting wild land fires and rescuing, radio communications and with others.  He and his wife had been living in Setauket  since 2003 and enjoyed traveling the country together.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, his sister Gail  Glintenkamp, and cousin Karl Zachow & wife Ingrid.
A graveside burial with military honors will be held at  Pinelawn cemetery
