Douglas G. Lotten, 74, of Montrose, PA, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away at his home on Friday July 31, 2020, with his family by his side. He was born on December 3, 1945 in Floral Park, NY, to the late Charles J. and Alice M. (Fusaro) Lotten. His wife, “My Sarah” Sarah (Levinson) Lotten, survives.
Also surviving are his four children, and their spouses, Janine and Rich Leute, Douglas Lotten, Michelle and Steven Frank, Jon Lieber, four grandchildren, Kathryn and Allison Leute, Christopher and Lucas Lotten and their mother, Erica Lotten, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Carol Lotten, Charles and Dorothy Lotten, Donald Lotten, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Lotten and a sister, Alice Queripel.
Doug was an Ex-Chief of the Terryville FD, a retired detective of the Suffolk County Police Department, and a Marine veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a longtime volunteer at Steamtown National Historic Site and a member of the United Fire Company. Doug spent his life in service to others; if you were lucky enough to know him, you know that he did so with a smile and a sense of humor. Doug was the kind of guy that made you feel that you were lifelong friends every time you spoke. He was a great man who had a wealth of knowledge and experience, yet didn’t have the ego to go with it, a rare combination.
