Arthur Henry Leonard of Setauket died on January 26 at age 89. He was born on May 19, 1928 in Providence, Rhode Island, and was the son of Arthur Henry Leonard Sr. and Lillian Horsefield.
He was a loving and devoted husband of the late Celia for 60 years. They were married on April 14, 1951 in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Arthur is survived by his six children; Kristine, Arthur, Brian, Cynthia, Jennifer and Judith. He was a cherished grandfather to 8 grandchildren, Jonathan, Andrew, William, Anne, Carolyn, Daniel, Sara and Laura and step grandson Davin, and 6 great grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren.
Arthur became a naval aviator on March 10, 1950, and served in the Navy in the Air Transport Squadron Six, at Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts until June 11, 1953.
Arthur had a passion for flying and he was a commercial airline pilot for TWA from 1953 until July 1, 1984. He piloted Constellation planes, and then as a Captain, 707 and 1011 jetliners. He flew domestic and international flights.
Arthur was an avid fisherman on his Blackfin, and he joined the Stony Brook Yacht Club on February 9, 1970, and he has been an active member ever since.
Arthur began volunteering for Three Village Meals On Wheels in 2001, and he did not stop until January 3, 2018.

A funeral mass will be held at St. James R.C. Church in Setauket on February 1, with internment at St. James.
