Our dear mother, Annette Brooks, 86, formerly of Rocky Point, NY was called to heaven unexpectedly on March 7, 2023. Annette was born on November 2, 1936 in Queens, NY, daughter to Sal and Angie Morzano. At the young age of 17, she met the love of her life, Richard P. Brooks, and they were married 3 years later on October 12, 1957, after he finished his stint as a Marine. Annette and Richie were Blessed to have been married over 54 years. Annette was a hard worker. For most of her adult life, she had a career working for the NY Telephone Company. Prior to that, she worked part-time for the IRS while her children were young. When she retired from the telephone company to keep busy she worked as a teller part-time for Chemical/Chase Bank and after that as a lunch monitor at Massapequa Public Schools. Annette’s favorite pastimes were shopping at Kohl’s, reading, knitting, writing poetry and baking for her family and friends. On any given celebration, you could count on Annette to bring her famous rice pudding and linzer tarts, nut cups and thumbprint cookies to the party! Annette was all about family, whom she loved with all her heart. She absolutely adored the holidays and would go overboard to make every one special. For every milestone or special event, she would write a poem, package it in a beautiful frame and give to you as a memorable gift.
Annette is survived by three children; Janet Andres (Jim), Richard Brooks (Anne Marie), and Lisa Levenstein (David). She had been blessed with nine grandchildren; Jacqueline Fryman (David), Josh Andres (Lenee), Shawn Andres, Kyle Seyler, Samantha Brooks (Lexi), Melissa Brooks (Justin), Ricky Brooks, Kyle Dippolito and, last but not least, Keith Dippolito.
Annette had been even more blessed with 4 ½ great grandchildren; Paislee Rodemeyer, Rowan Andres, Jameson Andres, Brooklynn Fryman and baby boy Fryman due in June 2023.
Annette is survived by a brother Salvatore Morzano (Sharon) and their three children; Greg Morzano (Colleen), Christopher Morzano and Jennifer Morzano (Jim). Our two families are very close and spend every holiday together always!
Annette was preceded in death by her beloved husband - Richard Brooks (2012), her parents - Salvatore Morzano (1999) and Angelina Morzano (2008), son-in-law - Michael Dippolito (2008) and her first cousins - Sister and Blondie - who she was very close to and considered them to be “sistas”. We pray that she has reunited with all of them up in heaven along with her dog, Muggsy. Annette will be missed terribly by all of those who love her. Please keep Annette and all of us in your thoughts and prayers.
