Edward M. Saletel

Edward M. Saletel, 74, of Port Jefferson Station, died 9/19/2017. Born on 1/6/1943 to Helen & Edward G. Saletel, in Brooklyn NY. A 1961 graduate of John Adams HS, he went on to serve his country for 6 years in the Air National Guard. After briefly serving as a Police Officer in the NYPD, he went on to serve  30 years, before retiring as a Police Officer, SCPD.

He had his own idea of life’s daily simple pleasures. A coffee, regular. Word games. Murder mystery shows. And reading the obituaries. “If you’re reading this, you’re doing better than me”, he would say now if he could.

He is survived by his 5 grandchildren, 3 children including daughters Krista Kelly & Stacey Saletel, and his wife of 52 years, Patricia. 

Viewing to be held at Bryant Funeral Home, East Setauket. Friday 9/22 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral service, Saturday 9/23 at 10:30am, Bryant Funeral Home, with internment at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
